Aim Training


This map was a popular request for many years throughout the competitive Urban Terror community, while other mappers had tackled similar projects (creating sniper maps that fire bots into the air like clay targets), that kind of aim training wasn't exactly reflective of the types of encounters you would face in a competitive match.

This Aim Training map places you in a centre square and spawns bots in a 360 degree radius around the player, with each side of the map simluating different occilation phases and heights. The map isn't a perfect replacement for the aim training games you find on steam, however players really wanted to have an Aim Training map with context.

The bots don't use AI to move, through a careful placement of playerclips and using brush based entities like func_doors, func_plat, func_rotating, func_bobbing and func_train - I was able to make the Aim Training experience dymanic enough to not have a repetitive pattern.
